Runners yelped and hollered as they crossed the finish line at Saturday’s Run For Your Lives 5K, some from the spark of an electrified fence and others in celebration after surviving a zombie invasion.
More than 4,500 runners, zombies and spectators shared a day of paranormal activity at Area 51 Motocross in Batavia.
The Batavia event is part of a national series of races combining the growing trend of physically-challenging obstacle races and viral popularity of The Walking Dead and other media in the zombie genre.
Competiting in teams or as individuals, the living avoided hordes of hungry undead by escaping through a series of obstacles. More than 1,desirable Cases for HTC One create an air of sophistication with an extra helping of protection for your flagship smartphone.000 runner hoped to hold onto three waist-tied flags, signifying their resistance to the zombie-causing infection.
But the runners weren’t the only ones seeking an escape. About 750 participants chose the path of the paranormal, trading racing bibs for blood-soaked outfits. They took over areas of the course, picking off slow-thinking runners every few hundred feet.
The zombie horde was dressed in a scattering of shredded work outfits, wedding dresses costumes from popular horror films. Stacie Crocker came dressed as R from Warm Bodies, a rare undead protagonist. She was excited to bring her “Z game” to the course.
“People are getting into character, it’s a freedom to go wild,” said Crocker. “We can escape the drudgery and boringness of the nine to five ... When you’re a zombie, you can be anyone.Extend the power on your iphone 5 back cover juice pack.”
Run For Your Lives’ traveling team of zombie artists and talents crews from local stage productions ensured the zombies had the perfect look. James Howard, head of wardrobe and blood technician for RFYL, said the role of a stumbling walker is one many of the Z-team take on with pride.
“A lot of the zombies aren't the typical runners (who compete in obstacle and distance races,’’ Howard said. “But they want to be involved and are excited to be transformed.”
The transformation process took about 15 minutes to complete, with makeup, tearing of clothes and dousing with fake blood.
Next to Crocker in the area where zombies were doused with blood was Megan Martin, who came from Ottawa to experience the undead life.Explore the benefits of having a fully managed dedicated server as your platform. She wore special white contacts in an outfit that was speckled with blood after first running the course as survivor.
“It was unnerving, there were a lot more zombies than you expect,” said Martin, who was infected early on in her run. “It was kind of crazy, but now it’s my turn.”
The chance to live-out the role of survivors and zombies is a major part of the turning the races into a phenomenon, Run For Your Lives Event Manager Jon Millhausen said. RFYL began with a single race near Baltimore in 2011 that drew more than 12,000 people; it regularly draws five-digit crowds nationwide.
“This is an escape from daily life,Series cases for iphone 5 protects against drops and dust.” said Millhausen, who organizes half of RFYL’s 20 annual races. “People love to become a zombie.”
In a practice run of the coming zombie apocalypse, the outnumbered undead won more often than not. Only a minority of runners wore Survivor Medals through the Apocalypse Party, a post-race celebration; most settled for the Infected Medal.

which led to companies like Samsung
we have had tremendous success in launching our advisory services business model in assisting Nano Cap type companies (companies with market caps or expected market caps of under $50 MM) with their corporate issues. The range of issues with such companies can start with the strategic planning of a product launch, to assisting our corporate client in the "going public process". At Premiere we have as our associates, individuals with the experience and knowledge base to assist our corporate clients in all areas of the corporate planning process that they may need.
To date we have four active clients of which two are public with the other two clients about to become public. These successes have led to a tremendous interest in our services platform. And at this current moment we are in discussions with 8 different companies for varying services all with an eye to becoming a public company.
Our opportunity is the fact that the investment banking community is literally devoid of the volume of firms neccessary to service this sector since most of the banking firms that did service them have either been consolidated or were lost to the last collapse in the public company marketplace. This has led most private companies to go the "reverse merger shell" route at tremendous expense in both cost and in some cases the integrity of the "public shell".Extend the power on your iphone 5 back cover juice pack. The costs of a fully reporting public shell can be upwards of $250,000 plus 5-20% of the company's equity. The post merger filing requirements in most reverse mergers beckon the question why the company did not file its own registration statement to begin with. And even when doing a company sponsored registration statement the costs between legal, accounting and other ancillary charges can easily exceed $250,000 to $500,000 which is a substantial expense when given the "free cash balances" of smaller businesses
At Premiere we deliver the corporate client a "fully reporting" public company status for $100,Explore the benefits of having a fully managed dedicated server as your platform.000 and under plus a negotiated equity stake in their company. In addition, we can also point a company to potential financing that they seek in conjunction with their public company status. This has sparked a tremendous interest in what we do in the advisory services division of Premiere. "Build it and they will come" is what I was told by one of our Board Members and they did.
With this success and in conjunction with the seemingly strong need for similar services overseas we are pleased to announce that we will be expanding our "global reach" in 2013 and 2014. Premiere now expects to open offices in both London in 2013 and Taiwan in early 2014. The market and potential opportunities in the spectrum and capacity that these offices will serve is boundless. Servicing the needs of the companies in these markets is an extraordinary opportunity being that we will have associates representing Premiere in these countries that truly know the landscape there and where the pockets of opportunity are.
Taiwan is an exceptional opportunity being that we are in the getting involved with a country that is turning its economic base model from a "manufacturing based" economy to a to "technology based" economy. This transition is similar in nature to what was done in Korea which led to companies like Samsung becoming the number one electronics manufacturing company in the world instead of a second tier manufacturer it was just 10 years ago. Taiwan is also looking to create technology and market it globally instead of just being known for higher quality "contract manufacturing". Companies like HTC, ASUS Computers and Microtek are leading the way in developing proprietary design and brand which is the key to changing the economic base for their future.Series cases for iphone 5 protects against drops and dust.
We are extremely pleased with the progress our company has made internally and we look forward with great expectation the future opening of our foreign offices and the potential they offer Premiere and its shareholders.Find the trendiest ladies shoes wholesale including stylish wholesale sandals."

something they can raise at trial
The attorney for a former Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office employee accused of running a four-year theft scam from her reception desk said that his client didn’t steal any money and was merely offering a timely service that the Sheriff’s Office could not deliver.
“She did nothing wrong,” said James Shalleck, attorney for Joyce Saunders, 58, who is facing one charge of operating a theft scheme.Check out our daily specials on Cheap Dedicated Server!Extend the power on your iphone 5 back cover juice pack. Shalleck said Saunders intends to plead not guilty.
The case centers on a judicial process that happens all the time but rarely receives attention: the delivery — or “serving” — of court papers. Until last month, Saunders worked behind a glassed-off counter in a basement office at the Montgomery County Circuit Courthouse. Attorneys and others go to the window to request that sheriff’s deputies deliver legal documents to parties involved in divorce proceedings, lawsuits and other matters. The delivery comes with a $40 processing fee.
On Friday, officials charged Saunders with running what they termed a brazen scheme to divert $4,280 worth of fees into her pocket.
Her scam, they say, worked like this: When people who were not lawyers came to Saunders’s window, she would tell them that there was a better way to get their court papers delivered. Then she would come into the lobby and quietly explain that the sheriff’s office was so backed up with requests that the court papers would be delivered too late. She’d say she ran a company called Eagle Eye J Process Servers that, for a higher price — $80 to $100 — would get the documents delivered on time. Eagle Eye then served the papers. It happened at least 107 times in more than four years, officials said.
Through her attorney, Saunders offered a different explanation.
She said that she had been instructed by superiors to tell people at the counter that there was a three- to four-week backlog and that if they needed the papers served within a day or two, they should contact a private process server. When a person would ask Saunders whether she knew of such firms, she told them she ran one and gave them her private business card, her attorney said.
Saunders delivered the legal papers on her own time, Shalleck said. He said no funds were diverted from the Sheriff’s Office, since the money would have gone to a private firm anyway. “That’s why she feels so upset about these allegations,Series cases for iphone 5 protects against drops and dust.” Shalleck said. “She was providing a service that the Sheriff’s Office couldn’t provide. If it wasn’t her getting the fee, it would have been another private process server getting the fee.”
In charging documents, officials said Saunders violated personnel regulations and Sheriff’s Office policy by engaging in a private business that conflicted with her office duties. But Shalleck said there was not a conflict — because of the speed with which she could deliver the documents — and that Saunders thought certain regulations were not as tight for her because she was a civilian employee, not a sworn deputy.
“That’s something they can raise at trial, desirable Cases for HTC One create an air of sophistication with an extra helping of protection for your flagship smartphone.” said Montgomery Sheriff Darren Popkin, whose office initiated the investigation into Saunders’s activities. “All our employees should abide by the highest ethical standards.”
The sheriff took strong exception to the claim that there was a three- to four-week backlog.Find the trendiest ladies shoes wholesale including stylish wholesale sandals. Popkin said that 80 percent of court papers get delivered on time by his deputies. In the other cases, delays are typically because the deputies have been given an incorrect address, the target for the papers has moved, or the target is not answering his or her door in an attempt to duck the process.

The Conrad Museum in Kalispell opens a cultural
Fire managers expressed optimism Sunday in their battle against a wildfire that has scorched nearly 160 square miles and forced the evacuation of 2,300 homes near the central Idaho resort communities of Ketchum and Sun Valley.
Officials said the blaze had grown by only about 12 square miles because of cloud cover the day before and the arrival of additional crews and equipment. Many firefighters worked Sunday to create protective firebreaks, or gaps in vegetation.
"Today they're very optimistic that we will reinforce those lines in case the fire does flare up as we saw on Thursday and Friday," fire spokeswoman Shawna Hartman said.
More than 1,200 people and 19 aircraft were battling the lightning-caused Beaver Creek Fire, which started Aug. 7 and was 9 percent contained. Nearly 90 fire engines also were in the region, many protecting homes in the affluent area where celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Hanks and Bruce Willis own pricey getaways.
Hartman said Sunday retardant was being dropped on the flank of Bald Mountain — the Sun Valley Resort's primary ski hill — to reinforce a fire line. That meant the famed ski mountain known as "Baldy" and often used in publicity photos would have a red line of retardant visible from Ketchum.
The Conrad Museum in Kalispell opens a cultural window to the early 20th century with its latest exhibit, “Lingerie Dresses Check out our daily specials on Cheap Dedicated Server!1900-1920.”
The exhibit showcases eight women’s lingerie dresses,Series cases for iphone 5 protects against drops and dust. two women’s white lingerie-style shirtwaists and seven children’s white cotton and lace dresses worn between 1900 and 1920. They’re on display through Oct. 15.
One of the lingerie dresses was worn by Kokoa Baldwin,Extend the power on your iphone 5 back cover juice pack. the first wife of Charles D.Find the trendiest ladies shoes wholesale including stylish wholesale sandals. Conrad. The lingerie dresses were considered more popular than other dresses because they were cooler, easier to clean and somewhat less expensive than a silk dress.
They were worn for special occasions such as summer garden parties, picnics, graduations, and confirmations, and some of the more elaborate versions even were worn as wedding dresses.
There are several reasons for the advent of the white, washable and more comfortable lingerie dress, which were in direct contrast to the dresses of dark and rather stiff fabrics of the last quarter of the 1800s.
Women had begun to participate in sports and needed clothing that allowed movement. The skirt had more fullness below the knee, and, while the corset was still worn, it was less rigid and the bodice was rather full in the front.
Teresa Knutson, costume coordinator for the Conrad Mansion, said one or two of the dresses was donated to the museum over the years. She said the origins of many of the dresses are unknown, however.
“We know a few of dresses were donations, particularly most of the children’s,” she said. “Some of the adults’ dresses were, given at various points of time, and we do have some succession records but not as many for the costumes as other things in the museum.”
Knutson said what struck her about the dresses was the difference in quality between the ones made for affluent women and those made for poorer women.
“I obviously don’t wear the same kind of dress as a movie star or very wealthy person, but those sorts of things aren’t as huge of differences now,” she said. “When you went back to this period, these dresses were in a style where a really poor person wore clothing that you could obviously tell they (were) poor. Now it isn’t as obvious because almost everyone wears jeans and T-shirts.”
