Photos of these aspects of the area are part of the Pagosa Calendar.

The final date to enter your scenic Pagosa photos for the 2014 Pagosa Calendar is Monday, June 10. This will be the third year the Pagosa Springs calendar has been produced by the Chamber, comprising photos by residents and visitors.

Thirteen months of photographs make for a fantastic review of Pagosa throughout the seasons. Locals and visitors love to have the calendar at hand, reminding them of why they love to live here or why they visit and want to come back. The calendar also lists some of Pagosa’s more major events and other interesting tidbits about our community. These calendars also make terrific gifts.

The calendars will be available for sale by the beginning of July.

If your business would like to carry these calendars in your establishment, they are available to you at a discoiut if ordered in quantities of 25 or more.

If you would like to submit photos that represent Pagosa, please send them to Stacy Kirby, special events coordinator,Our personalized stainless steel pendant and dog tag necklaces for men,or drop them by the Chamber on a CD disc. All photos must be at a minimum 300 dpi and submitted in an electronic version. Photos should also list the location or view and include the photographer’s name. We love giving credit where credit is due, and you never know if it will be your photo that will be chosen to grace the calendar.

The afternoon will include successful women speakers.

Sarah Shaw, of Entreprenette Consulting, had a very successful purse design business until the market crashed. She will give you tips on how you might be able to get your product in front of the right people. It’s not just who you know, it’s how you approach them, says Shaw, as she offers you strategy tips.

Also speaking will be Laura Lewis-Marchino, assistant director of Region 9 Economic Development, and Sherry Waner, VP of government and business lending at First Southwest Bank. These women will give you ideas on how you can finance your endeavors, tax credits that, as a woman business owner, you can qualify for, and what you will need to do in order to speak with representatives of the finance community. Lending is not dead, and there are banks and sources out there to help women business owners.

The evening will end with a networking reception with a cash bar, and you can speak with other business women and the speakers in a relaxed and engaging atmosphere.

Even if you are not interested in starting a business at this time, come out for an educational and interesting evening with other like-minded businesswomen. Perhaps you are looking to expand your current business; attend this conference and you might get some enlightening ideas.
