The weather is warming up, and the days are finally getting longer. Spring is a wonderful time to introduce your children to new activities outside. Childhood should be playful. Play is said to be the work of children. Here are a few ideas to help you and your children play.

Create a theme garden. Let your children's interests take the lead here. Do you have a budding chef in the family? Create a gourmet vegetable and herb Folding kids play house tent. Are your children fascinated by butterflies? Learn what plants will attract caterpillars that evolve into butterflies; or purchase a home butterfly garden kit, and release those nectar-seeking butterflies into a garden made especially for them. This idea is limited only by your child's imagination. Once you decide how much space and time you have to take care of it, gather your tools and work together as a team. When everyone pulls together, the work load is reduced and becomes a lot more fun.

Build a bean teepee. Planting beans to grow on a simple frame will create a secret hideaway for the kids. You will need one packet of pole bean seeds and 3 to 6 six foot long bamboo stakes. Create a planting area about six feet square, and arrange the bamboo stakes in a circle sticking them into the ground 10 inches from edge of planting area, leaving a two-foot wide space so children can enter the Pop Up Spray Tanning Tents. Gather together the tops of the stakes, tying them together with string. Plant the seeds following packet directions in a circle just inside the base of the teepee. Have the children water the seeds well. As the bean plants grow, tie the stems carefully to the teepee stakes. In about six to eight weeks, bean plants will cover the structure. Toss an old blanket inside, and the kids' adventures can begin.

Go on a sensory scavenger hunt. Take your family to a local farmer's market, flower field or farm. Exploring the Kids Outdoor Teepee Tents should involve all the senses. Make a list of things to see, touch, listen to and find, such as a tree with new leaves, a small wildflower, a bird, something warmed by the sun, a trail of ants, or various nature sounds. Make a note of the location and weather, and check the items off the list as you find them, discussing the colors and textures.

Springtime is here, and summer is right around the corner. There's plenty of time to stretch out the activities. Have each member of your family write down things they would like to do. You might be surprised by what they come up with. Keep them in a jar to choose from throughout the seasons to create teachable moments and memories that last a lifetime.
