  • There was the long and fruity Pope

There was the long and fruity Pope Resurrection Egg Paint Yourown figurine Childrens Craft Painting Sunday School in Collectibles, joke
I try not to wince in sympathy when a man attempts stand-up comedy for the first time. After all, there’s a widespread perception – some might say prejudice – that men aren’t that funny. The poor darlings are disgracefully under-represented on the club circuit and on TV panel shows.Ladies and girlstrims no appointment needed! I suppose it’s us women’s fault for liking dumb hunks, who will chortle at all our jokes.
Such was my stab at satire last Thursday when I co-hosted the “Funny Women Challenge the Men” fund-raiser at London’s Barber-Surgeons’ Hall. Twelve brave blokes were cracking jokes in front of an audience for the first time and the twist was they’d all been coached by women. This meant willy and mother-in-law jokes were discouraged, as a team of crack comediennes asked the men to dig – if not deep – some inches down into their pipe-smoke-shrouded masculine psyches.
A year ago I won (I won! I won!) the Funny Women’s all-femme challenge with a string of gently lewd observations about the British and sex,I personally really like these mini ear cap for my iPhone. so it was fascinating to see how a bunch of men set about the same task. I like to think there’s no such thing as “male” or “female” humour, but as I watched the chaps in action it made me think of my small sons yelling “poo-head”, bashing things with sticks, or lolling in a chair with a hand stuffed down their pants and you think,Click on their website www.smartcardfactory.com for more information. “Um, yes, boys are different.”
It’s safe to say that not one of the female challengers took the subject of urinals as the thesis for their comedic act. None of us described in loving detail how having a pee can be just like shaking out a Jackson Pollock picture, nor observed the fact that men never, ever wash their hands after daubing the porcelain and why this might explain the Queen’s penchant for gloves. But then the men were generally keener than the women to tread the dangerous high wire between humour and offence. The smart card has a memory chip embedded in it that, There was the long and fruity Pope joke, the Saudi-born challenger who said he was having flying lessons, but his instructors hadn’t taught him how to land: “Apparently, it’s not necessary.” Cue nervous laughter. The director of one company displayed mind-boggling chutzpah when he said he was stopped outside Boots by a woman conducting a survey, who asked him what grooming products he used. “I tend to use Facebook,” came the fearless answer – ensuring a nomination for the Frankie Boyle prize for tact and sensitivity.
Last March, when we women vied for the jester’s hat, at least three entrants mined their husbands’ and kids’ lives for laughs, while several drew inspiration from social media. The boys weren’t nearly so friends and family-minded, apart from one man who claimed his wife worked out upstairs with her personal fitness trainer, “He really puts her through her paces, you should hear how she moans…”
Unlike the ladies, the men loved their props, their back-drops and their intro music. One actually swaggered on in a black fedora to the Blues Brothers’ theme. Full kudos to the founder of Joseph Sterling Bespoke Jewellery, who carried on a tray of glittering rings and declared that he did all his own marketing: “Diamonds – because great sex doesn’t last forever.” It was clear De Beers had missed a trick.
However, it was the winning contestant who nimbly demonstrated the biggest single comedic difference between men and women, when he ascended the stage in high heels, mini-skirt and wig. After all, there’s barely a Briton alive who doesn’t find the sight of a bloke in drag hilarious. If they throw in some great gags for measure, they’re comedy gold; just look at Barry Humphries, Eddie Izzard and David Walliams.
But a woman in a trouser suit just looks like she’s off to her bank job. It’s not fair. There can be no level playing field in comedy until the boys are banned from borrowing our gymslips.

RBC has provided COB's largest corporate grant to date, $1 million towards the construction of the Graduate Business Centre.
The Matching Gift Initiative not only doubles the dollar impact of donations from participating companies, it also entices donors to increase their own contribution. Over the past three years, thirty-five private and public entities with more than 15 known COB graduates employed have given over $71,000 to The College. Director of Alumni Relations and Development, Ms. Davinia Blair is appreciative of the generous support as The College seeks new measures to help reduce cost while increasing revenue.
“Nationally and at The College, we are required to do more with less. The College of The Bahamas’ Annual Fund supports the education of future leaders and the national development of The Bahamas. A minimum annual gift donation of $25 dollars from friends, parents, staff, faculty and alumni supports numerous projects helping The College and students. The Annual Fund provides financial aid to keep students in the classroom, research and study resources for students and faculty, along with infrastructure and equipment improving the overall COB experience. Donations of every size are needed and make a difference for so many. Support through the Matching Gift Initiative doubles the amount of gifts for education in The Bahamas.Ladies and girlstrims no appointment needed!

  • These dwellings are efficiently organised

When you come to India expect to be surprised and delighted at every turn. Things will happen that will delight, shock, challenge and motivate you as you get to know this vast, enigmatic country. On a recent 16-day tour of Rajasthan I was staggered at the diversity of its landscape and people.
The colours, smells, sights and sounds of this exotic destination, with its history spanning 5000 years, will leave you spellbound. My imagination was captured by the hues of Rajasthan. The amazing red sandstone forts, white temples and marble palaces are complemented by the bright colours of fairs, festivals, functions and weddings. Everyday street scenes are enlivened by the vibrant splash of women's saris, in eye-catching red, orange, yellow and crimson.
Then there's the incredible culture. Brace yourself for the masses of humanity, holy cows, chaotic traffic, Bollywood movies, tandoori chicken, cricket mania and 330 million Hindu gods. Nowhere else comes close to incredible India.Sensormatic branded Custom hard tags and detection systems retail for double.
Touring by car with an assigned driver I travelled from Delhi to Agra, Jaipur, Mandawa, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Manvar, Jodhpur, Rohetgarh and Udaipur, passing thousands of pilgrims walking along the road. Their destinations were important Hindu temples and notable shrines such as Amarpura Dham in Rajasthan, which can be a staggering 300km from their home villages.
Although the pilgrimages take weeks to complete, invariably the colourfully clad, fully veiled women just carry a small overnight bag on their heads. In most cases the pilgrims sleep amongst the roadside acacia trees. Some find budget guest houses and others use temporary marquees set up on the roadside for their use.
The men wear white cotton clothing, loosely tied and distinctive white turbans. They stride nonchalantly along the dusty verge unencumbered by baggage, some proudly holding aloft their district flag. Thousands more travel by bus or truck crammed in tightly, even standing on the doorway steps. Men folk squat on the bus roof, oblivious to the dust, exhaust fumes and obvious danger.
Despite my first impression of primitiveness I soon come to realise that India has huge potential for growth and prosperity. The country manufactures or assembles under licence virtually all of its cars and trucks. The popular compact cars, Suzuki, Swift and the Dzire have waiting lists of 120,000 loyal customers. I rode in 4WD Mahindras on two desert safaris and was impressed with the performance of these replicas of the WWII American Jeeps. There are vast reserves of oil and gas in the north. However,Ladies and girlstrims no appointment needed! it appears that graft and corruption are holding the country back.
August is the start of the monsoon season in Rajasthan, but with its low annual rainfall this semi-desert region produces hardly enough precipitation to moisten the parched soil and farmer's crops are seriously threatened. In an act of desperation the government asked 5000 Hindu temples in Rajasthan to pray for rain but the clouds still held back the vital moisture. Each prayer ritual called for 5000 rupees (NZ$124) of specially blessed rice and up to 30 herbs, so it proved to be an expensive exercise. Nevertheless, a request was sent to the Uttar Pradesh asking 32,000 temples to repeat the exercise. We provide the latest advances in security enhanced products such as Custom passive RFID tag,
My heart goes out to the Rajasthan farmers as I watch them turn over huge acreages in 45 degree heat with heavy wooden ploughs pulled by a camel.Memory Custom card reader / writer Assorted Colors No Color Choice, Their village homes are made with hand-hewn slabs of red sandstone, thatched roofs and compacted floors of sand and cow dung mix. These dwellings are efficiently organised with separate family rooms, storerooms,The oldest bobble head provider - original handmade www.ownfigurine.com Head dolls made to look like the photo you provide to us. cow and goat fodder stores and cooking rooms. In one small hamlet I meet three children who are delighted when I take their photos and show them the images, the eldest demonstrating her scholastic prowess by counting to twenty in soft, lyrical tones.
As we drive from Jaipur to Jaisalmer and Udaipur, thousands of ploughed acres appear like orderly rows of sand ripples fashioned by the wind. But the locals assure me that the desert has a soul and a conscience. One day in late August when the she-camel and black billy goat lift their noses high to face the breeze and dance in a circle, the rains will surely come. The parched land will become the painted desert once again.
With thousands of years of deeply entrenched religious and cultural traditions, not surprisingly Indian people tend to be superstitious. This is particularly true of the very friendly and hospitable lower caste farming folk like the Bishnois who strictly observe 29 rules conceived by a 15th century guru.
Their homes lack any modern contrivances, with the exception of a motorbike to get them to town. Although surrounded by cows, goats and wild deer they never kill any animal and cannot eat meat, eggs or fish, being strictly vegetarian. Their staple foods are millet flour bread, yoghurt, vegetables, cassandra, desert beans and pulses.
Walking through various town centres, I meet and (with their permission) photograph a number of gypsies and the lowest caste Dalits, termed the untouchables. These groups often camp outside the towns and are very active in the tourist industry. At every fort and palace in Rajasthan, you'll find attractive, heavily veiled women standing in strategic locations inviting visitors to photograph them in their colourful garb. Once you proffer money, the veils are lifted to reveal coy faces with broad, toothful smiles.
Indian women are very beautiful, with olive skin, long black hair, fine facial features set off with colourful saris. Throughout Rajasthan it is common to find that their faces are completely covered. They wear gold jewellery, rainbow-coloured bangles, bright printed headscarves and lavishly embroidered leather shoes.
India has an insatiable demand for gold for social and cultural reasons. It's a hangover from a prehistoric era when the country possessed fabulous wealth and contributed one third of the world's GDP. Today, 969 tonnes of gold is imported primarily for jewellery and religious ornamentation.

  • Though everyone is encouraged to keep a Medi-Magnet

Report cards, grocery lists,With its bright and Custom 3D Lenticular card images, photos and bills – most of these items can be found on a typical refrigerator pinned with magnets from realtors, kids’ crafts or family vacations.
Today however, a rapidly-growing Alberta Health Services (AHS) program is changing the list of fridge-front features with the distribution of Medi-Magnets.
The small plastic pouches contain fold-out brochures where patients can fill out their medical history, current medication and other pertinent health information.
The idea is to display them in a highly visible place (like a refrigerator) so that in case of emergency, first responders have the information they need.
“We’re pretty proud about the rollout of the program and the success and the feedback that we’re hearing from people about it,” said JoAnn Cazakoff, a public education officer with AHS and the Regional Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Foundation.
The program launched in September 2011, and has since distributed roughly 10,000 magnetic pouches to high-risk homes across northern Alberta.
Though everyone is encouraged to keep a Medi-Magnet in their house, the kits are particularly vital for seniors living alone, dementia, cardiac and stroke patients or those with cognitive disorders that impair their ability to communicate.
“That’s a really valuable tool for paramedics to have, because we don’t always have patients that are able to give us good information about what’s wrong with them and what their medical history is,” explained Cazakoff.
Too often, she said, a responder shows up on scene and has to ask family, friends and neighbours for patient details they aren’t familiar with.
So far,Enjoy the greatest selection ever of wholesale tungsten bracelet. the program has been successful and paramedics are reporting multiple cases when a Medi-Magnet has come in handy.
“We are hearing good things from our paramedics that when they see it, they needed to have that information,I bought some Custom NFC tag / sticker from the good people over.” said Cazakoff.with unique items for custom keychain from thousands of independent.
Though it’s tough to track specific numbers, she said in any case, it’s a simple tool that’s well-worth the time to fill out.
“You could have a Medi-Magnet in your home and we never see you or we could see six of them in one week,” she said.
Though AHS and the Regional EMS Foundation still have a good stock of the magnets left, the organizations are always open to donations to the program.
Cazakoff already has a vision for what it might look like in the years to come, although the transformation could still be years away.
“What we’d really like to see is to be able to move it to technology so that if we showed up at a patient’s house maybe it’s on a memory stick,” she said. “We can plug it into our electronic patient care report, and up comes the information.
“That would be an ideal scenario instead of a piece of paper on a fridge, but we’ll start here and we’ll progress from this point.”
In the months to come, the AHS-EMS team will continue distributing the little blue pouches to homes in the area,We carry an assortment of wholesale stainless steel necklace, with the goal of having a new centerpiece on as many fridges as possible.

  • who was formerly a qualified medical

FROM the hushed lounge of Sutera Harbour Resort in Kota Kinabalu, a picture perfect view of the South China Sea snatches one’s breath away. The ocean, however, has found a worthy rival in the form of the immaculately groomed Datuk Dr Jessie Tang, who stole much of the attention.
The svelte 45-year-old is probably used to being in the limelight. She is the CEO of East West One Consortium, a plantation management company which she co-founded.
A tenacious go-getter, Tang is the epitome of an alpha female, carrying the weight of the once-stigmatised label with ease as if it were a billowing superhero’s cape on her shoulders. Yet, unlike other alphas, she is deeply respected by her peers.
Tang, who was formerly a qualified medical practitioner in her home state of Kedah,We carry an assortment of wholesale stainless steel necklace, dived headlong into the palm oil industry in 2004 when land prices were still affordable. It was a natural transition for someone who grew up, and loved, living in her grandfather’s rubber plantation.
“I used to help in the smoke house, drying rubber sheets. I also love nature and the wilderness. With its bright and Custom 3D Lenticular card images, your business can use Custom wooden card to stand out and make a good impression. I used to catch frogs, caterpillars and leeches and love all kinds of animals. The experience of estate life must have rubbed off on me somehow since I eventually opted for a business career which is very much plantation-related,” says Tang.
Today, the East West One Planter’s Scheme has evolved into the biggest oil palm investment scheme in Malaysia by virtue of land size. Tang is also a director of several companies with businesses ranging from timber to real estate development as well as commodities trading. Her astounding success, she claims, is attributed to the way she was brought up by her parents.
“I have five siblings – two boys and three girls, an average size family during that time. I was taught that being a girl is no lesser than being a boy and nothing is impossible to achieve, as long as we devote ourselves to do our best and to focus on what we want to achieve,” she says.
Tang’s mother was strict, and there were days when the precocious child yearned to escape her watchful eye. A huge fan of Bruce Lee, she began sneaking into a temple behind her home with her brother to learn Shaolin Kungfu from the monks.
Today, one cannot guess that Tang is a regular Kalis-Kuen Tao practitioner and chairman of Kalis-Kuen Tao Martial Arts Association, just by looking at her. An intriguing blend of Chinese, Filipino and Indonesian martial arts, Kalis-Kuen Tao incorporates the use of weapons in its fighting style.
But Tang, whose curiously polite and winsome demeanour reflects her delicate-as-a-rose exterior, is a walking contradiction. Inside, she’s a tough nut. She knows what she wants, and would never take no for an answer. She credits this extraordinary “discipline, mental strength and endurance in business” to what she has learned. “I also learned how to attack with weapons, like this fork, for instance,” she says jokingly, waving the cutlery about in a rare display of humour.
If there was a single defining moment in her life, however, it was the time she stumbled across a book called Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill at the age of 13.
“It was tattered and covered with dust,” she says. “Something made me want to read it. I hid it under my bed because I didn’t want my siblings to make fun of me. What fascinated me was not so much the prospect of becoming rich but the discovery of the law of attraction, which I successfully applied in my studies and later on, the various aspects of my life and business.”
Despite her burgeoning interest in entrepreneurship, the filial daughter heeded her father’s wish for her to become a doctor, just like him.
“So, although I was not really into medicine, I underwent the whole course and qualified as a doctor. I have served my four years’ compulsory government service,” she says.
After her medical stint, however, Tang’s interest in business was rekindled. Thus began her foray into the palm oil business. While her gender sets her apart from her colleagues, she always insists on being treated as an equal. “Gender does not matter. It is more important to be passionate about what you do and strive to be the best you can be in order to excel,” she shares her philosophy enthusiastically.
Of course,Enjoy the greatest selection ever of wholesale tungsten bracelet. setting a milestone achievement does not come without a few compromises. While Tang makes it a point to keep the lines of communication open 24/7 with her two adolescent boys, she admits she is not the perfect mother.
“As a woman, having to spend long hours working and being away from my family would be the biggest sacrifice I have had to make. However, as a career woman, such sacrifices are not an option,” she states matter-of-factly.
Her hero – Body Shop founder Anita Roddick – may give clues as to why Tang works the way she does. She explains: “Roddick has inspired me to create my very own business model based on passion and compassion in which I believe we have to give 120% in whatever endeavour we undertake. We have to be deeply interested and able to persevere to face impossible odds.I bought some Custom NFC tag / sticker from the good people over.”
Like Roddick, Tang also tries to give back to the community by getting involved in numerous charitable organisations. Not surprisingly, gender equality remains her area of interest.
“As a medical student in India, I witnessed suffering of all sorts endured by women there, especially among the rural less educated community who lived in poverty with no source of income. Many were victims of crime, rape, violence or domestic abuse. It was very sad to see their condition and I felt helpless,” she says.

  • There is laughter and familiarity in the shots

Your portraits come to life,” reads a comment someone left outside ImageArt gallery, in Patan. Inside, vibrant photographs hang off red ribbons, instances from the lives of
women,We provide the latest advances in security enhanced products such as Custom passive RFID tag, part of the exhibit She by upcoming photographer and photojournalist Uma Bista.
Most of the photos are candid. Street-shots show women browsing bracelets, managing children; scenes from the Bolbam festival where they celebrate in the Bagmati river; women getting married, working, in school; women who inspire her. Uma is everywhere they go, her lens following their everyday, quietly, from a distance. It’s moving—the scenes do not elevate her subjects or pretend they are larger than life—she alludes to hero worship by capturing the ordinary. Her opening lines for the exhibit reflectively state: “SHE is more than a mere word. SHE is multiple. SHE plays different roles in our lives and fully dedicates herself to each of them.”
Neither the field nor the subject is new to Uma. It took one photography course in Grade 12 to make her fall in love with photography. Now she’s a full-time photojournalist, and also a frequent participant of workshops. In Nepal, where most photojournalists are men, the 22-year-old’s first solo exhibition speaks volumes for how far she’s come. She cites her inspirations as NayanTara Gurung Kakshapati and Jodi Bieber.
But a distinct passion for documenting the lives of women comes through in all her work. In Constant Change, a photo book by photo.circle, she was featured along with 12 other artists. Uma published photographs from her experience with a woman in Delhi, whose husband had died. You'll find a number of top quality China RFID tag suppliers.
“I feel more intimate and close to women,” Uma says. It’s the small things, she asserts: women open up to other women more easily and are less suspicious. But many of her photos are taken from a distance, her subject unaware. Intimacy requires engagement, some show of vulnerability or acknowledgement. Still her claim is not ungrounded,The elegance of astainless steel pendant is unparalleled. and perhaps better founded in photos where her portraits gaze directly at us, such as the old frowning woman, Uma’s mother and the community forest activist Nanda Devi Kunwar.
In her photographs of the Bagmati river, women celebrate and splash around. There is laughter and familiarity in the shots. Uma had one image formed in her head: a woman lifting herself out of the river, her hair spraying beads of water into the air. Uma waited; she wasn’t going to ask anyone to pose. The final shot, which she managed to capture, strikingly sums up the essence of the exhibit: this woman’s celebration of the festival is akin to Uma’s celebration of women.Shop unique Custom paper card with modern style and vibrant colors.
“In our male dominated society, HE is the subject and the leading character while SHE is taken as an object, as the ‘other.’” Uma writes. But men haven’t entirely been left out of the exhibit. They populate the woman’s everyday, including on these walls. There is the boy child, turning back to look at Uma just before heading home, but he is the only male who figures prominently among her photographs. The rest, hung in a section together, are figures that interestingly, do not fill the frame the way her women do. Men are working in fields, dancing, falling; but only in the background. In this section, Uma adds metaphor by including the photo of a field. The shot looks upwards: a growing crop is reaching the sky—men, she suggests, are a force of nature. This idea contrasts with a photo you can’t forget, that of her mother. It towers the rest in composition, colour and feel. Her mother stands tall in a grassy field, her figure tall before the sky, in comparison to the sky.Men's wholesale stainless steel ring are very sturdy and will stand the test of time. Men might imitate the force of nature but she is the force of nature. Incidentally, Uma is working on a long-term personal project with her mother.
The exhibit indulges in further metaphorical play, too. The photograph of an after-wedding scene is juxtaposed against a photo celebrating Dashain. It is the seventh day, and a canon is launched. The pair of photos, she explains, signifies the theme of celebration. But it makes us uncomfortable, and provokes a commentary on the question of marriage.

CARDONALD College Glasgow is the birthplace of many of Scotland’s leading fashion, textiles and jewellery talents and they were out in force at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum last Saturday to showcase their stunning creations at ‘Metamorphosis’,Financing options for a green card holder without Work Card holder. the college’s end-of-term fashion show.
All the garments and jewellery on display at the sold-out show were created by students from Cardonald’s esteemed School of Fashion, Textiles and Jewellery which has provided industry-standard training to nurture design talent over the last 30 years, helping to shape the careers of many of the country’s leading fashion talents including Rebecca Torres, Tammy Kane, Louise Gray and Gillian Kyle.
This year’s collections included bridal wear, ‘Global Decoration’, and period costumes created as part of a collaborative project between Cardonald College Glasgow and Pollok House.
After seeing the professional quality of the collections on display at this year’s show, it looks like the graduates of 2013 are set to carry on Cardonald students’ success in the industry, with recent graduates Kyle Spears and Katy Clark set to lead the new fashion pack with their designs poised to influence high street styles in the near future.
Former students who showcased their work at last year’s show have even hit the headlines recently: Alison McLean, who studied textiles, is working for American fashion brand Anthropologie and her designs have been worn by stars including Taylor Swift. Another textiles student, Charlotte Helyar, is working for Stella McCartney as a print designer.
Jacqueline Farrell, Head of School for Fashion, Textiles and Jewellery at Cardonald said: “Our final year students were so excited to showcase the collections they’ve worked so hard on at this year’s show; our last show as Cardonald College Glasgow, as we will soon be merging with Anniesland and Langside Colleges to form Glasgow Clyde College.”
She continued: “Holding the fashion show in Kelvingrove’s beautiful central hall meant our students’ work was seen by a wide audience, whilst giving the general public the chance to experience a professional fashion show.Cordies Cable Organizers Cable Organizer keeps your cords from sliding into the void behind your desk. The garments produced were truly outstanding and the audience were so impressed at the quality on display. I must also say – the models hair was stunning too, as was styled by the renowned Glasgow hairdresser, Alan Edwards, who sponsored the show, along with Artstore and Remnant Kings.”
The seller of pricey jewellery, watches, leather goods and accessories had exited India in April 2011 after ending a seven-year tieup with a Mumbai-based firm to run monobrand stores. This time round, the brand intends to have more control over its operations. "Bulgari is making an attempt to come on its own and is in the process of setting up a store," one of the persons said. "This time, they will go in for a silent partner due to regulatory requirements." Bulgari did not respond to emailed queries sent by ET seeking information on the talks.
However, persons in the know said the company plans to open a single-brand store in south Delhi in a couple of months. Bulgari was bought by the world's No 1 luxury group, LVMH, in 2011. Franck Dardenne, general manager of LVMH Watch & Jewellery India, said, "Bulgari is considering options, but I will be in a better position to answer in the next six months."
India's luxury market is expected to reach $14.73 billion by 2015 from an estimated $8.21 billion this year, compelling several international luxury brands to have a relook at the market. India allows 100% foreign direct investment ( FDI) in single-brand retail and 51% in multi-brand retail, but the opening up of this sector comes with the rider that 30% of sourcing should be done locally. The sourcing clause, however, is a deterrent for most international luxury brands, which are currently operating in the country through joint ventures, franchisees or silent partners.Soft Winbo Key Cover decorates your key in fashionable ways.

In 2004, Bulgari had joined hands with Dia Group's sister concern, Lifestyle Tradelinks India, to open two standalone stores in Mumbai and Delhi.
The stores, however, closed down after seven years. "The sales were good, but some problem cropped up between the brand owners and the franchise partner," said another person who did not wish to be named. Like Bulgari, high-end Swiss watch brand Jaeger-LeCoutre (JLC) is also considering reopening a standalone store in India by early next year. JLC had opened a mono-brand store in DLF Emporio in 2007 in partnership with Kapoor Watch Company, but closed it the following year.

  • I went into the crowd for a story

I still tell the stories about the first Oregon State football game I covered back in 2004. It was the triple overtime loss at LSU, and it comes in at No. 2 on my list of OSU football memories.
The game itself is well known among OSU fans. LSU had won the national title the year before and the Beavers had the Tigers on the ropes throughout the game.
A late comeback forced overtime. Alexis Serna, a walk-on redshirt freshman, missed three extra points, including the one that gave LSU the win at the end.
Serna was a long-running national news story for the meltdown and his return to never miss another extra point in four years. He won the Groza Award as a sophomore for being the best kicker in the nation that year.
The action around the game was just as interesting to me. LSU was coached by Nick Saban,This is a universal black magic Cell phone anti-slip mat. who I'll be covering at Alabama in a few weeks.
Photographer Ryan Gardner and I went a day early to follow the team as it got ready for the humidity and time change. We went to Thursday's practice, and got there early. The LSU security people forced us to stand in the rain to wait for the Beavers since it was too close to LSU's practice.Shop wholesale Soft PVC Mugs Promotion Cup from cheap.
ESPN's "Game Day" was there, so I went into the crowd for a story about OSU fans making the trip. That created an early day. After sending in that story, it was off to find lunch.
I had been to New Orleans to party before and knew of the local food, so I wanted to get a Baton Rouge Po'boy,Choose an affordable yet high-quality cell Phone holder. a monster sandwich. Locals pointed Gardner, Salem reporter Gary Horowitz and I in the right direction.
Our destination was a butcher shop/mini mart. A guy with a blood-stained shirt with a Creole accent asked for our orders. Gardner got the ham and I the roast beef. Yes, they were rare. Horowitz got the shrimp.
The guy behind the counter didn't wash his hands before and between orders as he put handfuls of the meat of our order on the bread. I wasn't thrilled with the sanitation, but I tried to get it down.
After that failed, it was on to the game. The press box was open air, so we were all sweating in the humidity.Buy your photo frames moulding and matting photo storage and accessories online today. I didn't know I could sweat through my fingernails.
Then a huge pregame rain storm hit the field and delayed the game. Water pooled in the middle, so the fans decided to run onto the field and use it as a slip-and-slide.
When that comedy was done, the game started. What turned out to be an easy afternoon game became a deadline nightmare. Media folks were scrambling to write and get a quote from Serna in one of the few times OSU didn't allow access to a player.
If that wasn't enough, I accidentally booked a 7 p.m. flight instead of 7 a.m. the next day to come home. It turned out to be a good thing because the maids of our hotel kicked us out of the room for oversleeping at noon.
A trip to Bourbon Street in New Orleans to kill time would make the trip complete. However, I didn't realize what the special event was that week. It was a gay and lesbian event that took over Bourbon Street.
Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but this group was over-the-top stereotypical with naked men showing body parts for beads. I'll stop now. Gardner and I saw things we wish we hadn't. Being a photographer, he took pictures to horrify our co-workers.
A long day ended when our flight reached PDX close to midnight with OSU fans cheering to be home. But we had another 90 minutes to drive.
That was the first game of my OSU beat writing career. I never missed one,Shop Silicone IPAD Case now and get more. and that one sticks out.

  • The man was intercepted and arrested at Ballarat

The Titan scrip made a new one-year low of Rs 201.20 intra-day today before closing 13.3 per cent lower at Rs 204.90 versus a 0.53 per cent fall in the Sensex. This takes the stock's fall to 27 per cent since June 4, when the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) came out with new restrictions on gold imports.
While the market had a sense of the implications, today's fall follows the Titan management's profit warning issued in an analyst conference call on Tuesday evening. According to the management, RBI's increasingly stringent norms on gold imports will hit its earnings per share (EPS) and return ratios in the medium term. The company, however, has so far not witnessed any impact on consumer demand for gold jewellery. Most brokerages have downgraded the stock post the call, trimming their EPS estimates (by 13-15 per cent) and target prices.
"We downgrade Titan to 'hold' from 'buy' as we see its return ratios declining due to higher working capital as it likely funds its gold requirements through direct imports. While we don't see a risk to Titan's business model, and remain positive on the growth of branded jewellery, we expect its FY14 and FY15 earnings to be 15 per cent lower (versus earlier estimates) due to higher interest costs on a leveraged balance sheet. We cut our target price to Rs 225 from Rs 290," says Gaurang Kakkad, an analyst at Religare Capital Markets.
Higher working capital is also estimated to pull down Titan's return on equity (RoE) from 42 per cent in FY13 to 35 per cent in FY14, say analysts. The key to prospects, consumer demand, remains unperturbed, but stringent measures could weigh on demand. The silicone bracelet personalized promotional key chains comes with free shipping.
Though Titan is looking to increase the proportion of studded jewellery and other businesses (watches, eye care) to reduce risks further, these will fructify over a longer term.
The government and RBI have taken a slew of measures to curb gold imports. The government, for instance, has raised import duty on gold from two per cent in January 2012 to about eight per cent now; the last hike of two percentage points was in early this month. Last week, the central bank also prohibited credit for import of gold for domestic use from suppliers or bullion banks.manufacturers and Soft PVC coaster pad suppliers Director. This means companies such as Titan will have to import gold at prevailing spot market prices and by paying 100 per cent cash. Earlier, the company used the gold-on-lease route to source the yellow metal at about 3.5 per cent interest from banks, MMTC, etc. This shift will impact Titan in two ways.
First, Titan will need additional working capital to buy gold. Analysts estimate the requirement at Rs 2,500 crore in FY14. Religare analysts estimate the funds will stretch Titan's balance sheet, resulting in a net debt of Rs 1,450 crore in FY14 from a net cash position of Rs 1,140 crore. Hence,Stainless wholesale stainless steel bangle with rhinestones, while net debt/equity will rise 0.6 times in FY14, the company will also start incurring interest costs.
Second, the company will incur additional costs to hedge risks arising from adverse gold price movements.Armani Exchange Women's Smart stainless steel bangle Watch online. However, lower letter of credit charges and one per cent value-added tax savings (on utilisation of gold import licence) will offset hedging costs to some extent,This RFID reader module is ideal for Custom UHF Reader / Writer. believe analysts. Titan is permitted to directly import 10 tonnes of gold under the current licence against its annual requirement of 20-22 tonnes.
The same vehicle was then involved in a fuel drive-off at Linton near Ballarat at 9am Saturday when diesel valued at $70 was stolen.
The man was intercepted and arrested at Ballarat and remanded in custody to appear in the Ballarat Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.
He was charged with burglary, theft of a vehicle, theft of diesel and assaulted-related offences which are alleged to have occurred in Coleraine last week.
The man appeared in the Ballarat court where he was released on bail with conditions.
Portland detectives are also investigating the theft of a safe containing jewellery and personal papers valued at a total of $10,000.
Detective Sergeant Brown said thieves entered a home in Tamora Crescent through an unlocked rear door between 4.15pm Saturday and 3.10pm Sunday. A safe was stolen from a rear bedroom wardrobe containing a considerable amount of jewellery, a passport and personal documents.
